Associate Attorney
Goldstein Immigration Lawyers, a leading immigration law firm with offices in Boston and Los Angeles, is seeking a full-time and a part-time associate attorney in its downtown Boston office.
We are currently working from home, but responsibilities will include appearances at USCIS in Boston and Lawrence, MA, and at hearings in the Boston Immigration Court.
Our ideal candidate is highly-organized and detail-oriented, with excellent people skills and the ability to multitask. The candidate must also have strong writing abilities, be a self-starter, and take initiative on assigned projects.
Responsibilities include:
Representing clients before the Immigration Court, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the federal courts;
- Preparing and drafting applications/petitions for immigration benefits;
- Advising and counseling clients on possible avenues of relief;
- Researching case law, regulations & statutes to help in defending clients and asserting their rights;
- Representing clients in family-based applications, consular processing and other cases;
- Working collaboratively with partners, associate attorneys, and paralegals; and
Conducting legal research and writing in support of both affirmative and defensive applications as well as in support of federal litigation and advocacy before various immigration agencies.
Candidates must have a current bar membership in good standing for any state in the United States or the District of Columbia. We will give a preference to candidates with Spanish language skills. Also, we prefer to hire a candidate who has a demonstrated commitment to immigration law and related social justice issues.
Salary is dependent on experience. Benefits include health insurance and vacation time. We have a positive, open team environment.
